Since our party was very green and full of plants, we decided it would be perfect to let the guests take a part of that theme home with them. We wanted to do something extra special for party favors. We then enjoyed our cake and sparkling water! Each place setting had a unique bamboo style placemat and different leaves under the plates. All of the dinnerware was in green and yellow colors to go along with our other safari baby shower ideas. We set up a table with place settings that were coordinating, yet different from each other to add a little personality to the table. How refreshing after a long day on safari! For beverages, we wrapped glass bottles in burlap tied with twine and filled them with sparkling water and a slice of lemon. To make the cake toppers we used more of the same Jungle Table Décor and hot-glued pieces to wooden skewers of varying lengths. We matched the colors perfectly to the invite and added polka dots to the side to match the table décor. The lion cake pops were peaking out of tall grass, just like on a real safari. We filled the dessert table with sweet treats that all had some sort of tie-in to our jungle theme, including banana bread circles, lion cake pops and a matching cake! To make the banana bread circles we used a cookie cutter to cut our slices into perfect circles, and topped them with whipped cream and a slice of banana. We used a mixture of lanterns and tissue poms hanging above it to make it our focal point, along with garland made from our Jungle Table Decor. It fit in so well in our little jungle we decided to use it as our dessert table and decorated it with a burlap table runner down the middle.
We did a little hunting and found this fantastic green dresser at our local thrift store.
